Hey everyone hope your all having a fab Bank Holiday and the sun is shinning where  you are.
today's post is for Artistic inspirations and their new challenge
Paper piercing/ paper piecing
to be honest us girls on the dt got a tad mixed up and though it was supposed to be paper piercing some of us,
( me included ) did paper piecing, so the powers that be kindly let us do both lol.

so as you can guess mine is paper pieced, i printed the little girl, then printed her over and over to get the different papers i needed to dress her etc, then each piece is cut out and stuck down.
i printed the background and cut out , then layered onto green card, i also re sized and printed some of the background flowers , but out and arranged around the little girl, and simply finished off with a little bling in the top corners.

my image is from

QKR and is called Gardener

i hope you will come and play along , and whichever you chose to do, piercing or piecing we love to see all your fab entries x

hi ya me again :)
Its challenge time again at Glitter n Sparkle and a nice easy theme this week, Happy birthday

My image is Wanda Widow for The Stamping chef

i started with a 6 x 6 white blank, covered in a pink pattern paper from My Craft Studio, and went all over it with Visible Image Crackled Background stamp.
next i cut a web on my Craft Robo, i printed my image coloured with pro markers and cut out.
the ticket i made up in My Craft Studio printed cut and coloured again wit pro markers.
the spider in the image got a little lost on the crackled background so i went online and found a black widow spider re sized and fussy cut it out , then i coloured a clear gem with red and black pro markers to resemble the body and stuck it down.
I finished off the card with black ribbon , trim and a few black gems .

Visible Image free your Imagination

Morning all
Another Saturday another Dt post for Visible image :)
this week i have used the wonderful Free your imagination set, this one if so versatile, you can go masculine or feminine, simple or fancy, just wonderful to play with all your embossing powders, gilding waxes, glitters inks or whatever.

I have used my set with a die cut birdcage.
First i took a 6 x 6 copper card blank, then i printed a pink pattern paper cut it to size and went around the edge with the upper part of the bird, just showing the splattery part , then embossed this in copper embossing powder, i went all over the rest of the background with the group of birds in brushed corduroy distress ink.
the birdcage was coloured with burnt sienna pro marker then rubbed over with cast bronze gilding wax.
i stamped the bird on the backing paper, then on scrap card, the one on the scrap card i covered in glossy accents, once dry i cut him out . the backing paper was stuck down then the birdcage positioned over the stamped bird, the second bird i had done on card was then placed half in the door and half out as if he is escaping, the tiny dots and splatters along his top half are not lost because he has been stamped onto the backing also ( you just cannot fussy cut those tiny bits out!, i almost forgot these bits on the backing are also covered with glossy accents).
finally i stamped the sentiment cut it out, added some copper embossing around the edge and stuck down with sticky pads, then the last thing was a little black bow at the top of the birdcage.

I hope you like this little make .

why not pop over to the website and have a look at all the other fantastic stamp sets available.

also don't forget the Brighten your day challenge is still running over on the Visible Image blog
but you only have a week left to enter so come on get busy with your fab bright colours x

although this isn't strictly a steampunk image, i thought she would look great so here she is all punked up :)
this is am 8 x 8 card, silver , blues and black used, first to colour the image with pro markers, this was then mounted onto silver mirri, i cut cogs in silver, 2 large . 2 small and a number of tiny tiny ones which i used to decorate the butterfly..

also have you noticed her nose ring ;)

the base card was covered with silver mirri, then a layer of stempunky paper i had changed to blue, over this i added a large piece of black lace.
i hand cut some Flowers and layered and added the cogs to the centre with a bit of bling( of course )
after the butterfly had been cut and added i went ahead and decorated it with the tiny cogs, the used the teeny tiny ones as a sort of flight path if that makes sense lol.

anyway i hope you like it and will come join us for this fab challenge at

Visible Image & Edward

Hi all, hope you are all well and maybe getting a little sunshine, its been grey and chilly today, hope it improves soon, we need some summer!
Anyway it is Saturday so time for another Visible Image DT post, this week i have 2 cards for you using the wonderful Edward and Winter Tree stamps

this first one is as you might have guessed is for all those twilight fans out there, Mr sparkly Edward in all his vampy glory.
i started off stamping and colouring Edward, he is coloured in pro markers, then i covered his face and hand in dries clear glue, and sprinkled him with glamour dust,  ( well what else could i use for such a sparkly fella ).
while he was drying i went on line and found a picture of the sky, took it into my graphics program and made it darker, then i found the moon cut it out and stuck to the pic, its a blue moon :)
then i used the gorgeous Winter Tree stamp, and stamped all around the edge to give the feel of the woods at night, finally i popped Edward on and mounted the whole thing onto some silver mirri.

next one

Mr mean and moody himself, Edward as Heathcliff....
once again i stamped Edward, but this time i used pattern papers and paper pieced his clothes, one they had been stamped cut and stuck down i used pro markers to add shading.
the background is a photo of the moors, which i once again took into my graphics program and this time i turned it black and white, i added a quote from Wuthering Heights, Stamped the Winter Tree again, and added Edward, then mounted onto black card.

how wonderful is that tree? and Edward is just fab to colour be it sparkly vamp or mean and moody rejected love.

if you like what you see head over to the Visible Image store and take a look at all the other fab characters, and wonderful stamps they have.

hugs x

dont forget to visit the Visible Image Blog, lots of inspiration and of course the monthly challenge which this month is Brighten your day:)

and of course our facebook page

I am entering these into the following challenges

Wednesday 15 May 2013

Hi guys :)
well here i am with my final piece for Simply steampunk challenges, i have loved my time as a guest dt member and i tell you peeps if you love steampunk run over and check them out .

OK so here it is, Halloweenie 5

Isn't he a lovely sad little fella!
not sure my colours show very well in this one again, they are fine in real life but a bit subtle for the camera, oh well you can get the general feel of it lol
the image is as always done with pro markers then fussy cut, i went around the edge with glossy accents, and once dry i went over with Cast Bronze Gilding Wax, which i got from the lovely Lisa at That Craft Place, oh boy does she have an Aladdin's cave of goodies.
i took a plain brown card, and some vintage brown paper, which i tore into 4 and then distressed the edges with of all things, a foot file LOL , (don't have a fancy paper distresser) .
then i cut loads of cogs on my craft robo from silver mirri, but of course silver isn't the right colour so our come the pro markers and a dab of gilding wax to look like rust..

next they are layered up all around the image, quite a simple make but effective i think,

so i would like to say a great big thank you to the girls at Simply Steampunk, and of course
Simply Betty Stamps, for her fab fab images.
THANKS GIRLS

Happy Monday all
Its time for another challenge at Artistic inspirations
the theme is Lace & Flowers and who doesn't love lace and flowers, my make might not be what you would expect from me for a lace and flower challenge but trust me it does have both

my image is Scarecrow & Sunflowers form our lovely sponsor Eureka
they are offering the winner 5 digi images from their store :)

OK onto my make don't know if  you guys remember i had a sunflower digi to work with a few weeks back and made an altered bean tin project.... well this Little guy just screamed to be made into a complimentary tin lol

I used the same papers, made some more paper lace in the same paper and added the lace trim around the top and bottom, then i used the sunflower image from the other bean tin and made small sunflowers to go around the edges a bit, you can just see them in the background to the side.

The main image was printed coloured and layered, shaped then added to finish off the tin.

They look so bright and happy sitting on my shelf together .

Hope you like it and will come play along at

Visible Image and Molly May 11th

Happy Saturday peeps, hope your all having a lovely weekend
as its Saturday it is of course my Visible Image dt post for the week, and today we have Molly

I have gone for a 5 x 5 tent fold base, and a 5 x 3,1/2 topper, the papers are from My craft studio and i changed the colours to suit Molly who i had coloured with pro markers in a stunning blue, and black combo.
once i had layered the papers and topper i took some Black Rose trim and ran across the bottom then added some real pretty gem flowers in the fab blue. Molly has been fussy cut and added on sticky pads, her Skelly head hair bands are glittered and have gem eyes. finally i added a pretty glittered butterfly.
I have to say i love this blue, and Molly is such a fun character to work with you really need her in your collection x

Also over this weekend there is a  Fathers day special of 20% off so go have a peep and treat yourself.

and don't forget your entries for the challenge,Brighten your Day

Friday 10 May 2013

Hey guys, what is up with this weather!?
wish it would make up its mind, i don't know what to wear  each morning lol, solution, ? stay in PJ's and get crafting :)

today i bring you my Design team piece for this weeks Delicious Doodles challenge, Anything but a Card, and i have to say the dt have done some smashing inspirational projects.

here's mine

I have used Wistful Fairy, and although she is coloured in the most beautiful soft soft pinks they don't show in the pic, (I'm seriously getting mad with myself over my photography skills lol)

this is actually a journal, it was a bright pink kind of alligator skin (faux of course) i covered the whole thing in Gesso, and then painted with palest pink acrylic, i chose a pretty paper ( one of my faves) printed it out and tore it to size to give the soft edges. i had added the branch in my graphics program so i printed it out twice and fussy cut some of the flowers, sticking them over the flat image to give dimension.
The beautiful fairy was coloured and cut  and then tiny tiny gems added to her crown and dress.
i have used flowers and a gem birdcage from my stash, and a few gem sprays. and a string of Aurora pearls along the spine edge of the front on the lace.

i added some lace down the spine
and the back is covered in the same paper as the front

i hope you like my wistful fairy journal

maybe ill fill it with lots of wistful dreamy ideas :)

come join in the fun at

hugs x

Little Lavinia is coloured with pro markers, and the eye is covered in glossy accents.

Visible Image Clara Tag

hi guys hope your all having a fab weekend
its my weekly Visible Image Post, and i know i did a Clara card last week for the launch, but i couldn't resist another play with her so this time i did a tag to add to the character tags collection.

i went with soft green and pink, with some flowers and a corset. what do you think?

i started with a background that already had the  pattern and the flowers and corset
i recoloured it to get the green and pink, then printed it twice, on the spare print i cut the flowers leaves and corset out stuck the corset to card and cut again, the using a crop a dile i punched holes and added eyelets. then thread the ribbon.
once Clara was coloured and cut i went around the edge with the edge of the bird from
Free your Imagination Stamp set, round once in  shabby shutters distress ink, then a gain in peeled pain distress and then around again with a sponge and black soot distress ink.

then to put it all together i glued the flowers and leaves on, and added the corset & Clara on sticky pads.

isn't she just too pretty

you can find Clara, her lovely fella Edgar, and all the other fab characters at

go on over and have a look, and why not treat yourself to a may day prezzie :)

hugs x

oh and dont forget the new challenge over on the

Friday 3 May 2013

Hi guys
Today I'm here with my second guest DT card for Simply Steam punk,
and its for their new challenge
Frame It

I have used the beautiful Lavinia Portrait isn't she stunning?
as you can see i have strayed away from traditional steam punk colours but she just seemed to fit these really well.

So what did i do, to start i chose a 6 x 6 white card blank and covered in a light green pattern paper, then i chose a purple paper to compliment and matt his on top of the green, i found another green paper that had a design which reminded me of a daily so i cut the shape out and realised it was too big ,lol so i cut one layer of the lacy pattern off, and although i think its still a tad large it kinda works, but i should have moved it in a little, :/
Next i coloured the image with pro markers, and covered the whole thing with ultra thick embossing powder, (  this explains the flash on the image !), i printed the image again on the purple pattern paper so as not to lose the lovely spidery detail at the bottom, and stuck the coloured image over the printed one, (does that make sense? ) ...moving on lol,i added lace to the card and cut around the whole image and stuck it down with sticky pads, then i added tiny half pearls all the way around the frame.
to finish i added a bow, a metal corner embellishment and some beautiful blooms from Petal Lu.

At this point i thought i was done then thought hang on that bottom corner looks a little bare, spying the cut off part of the daily i picked it up and folded concertina style cut and tucked it just under the bottom edge of the frame. :)

I really loved making this card even though i think the doily is in the wrong position I'm quite pleased with it lol

Do go check out the other Design Team inspiration and play along with the challenge .

Hugs x

i have now entered this into the challenge at http://craftingmusketeers.blogspot.co.uk/

May Challenge at Visible Image

Hi guys , can you believe we are in May already! we finally had a few nice days , i kinda made a start on the garden though didn't get too far as we have the dreaded Japanese knot weed all over, whoever had this place before really neglected house and garden , its gonner be a big job getting it sorted. but hey ho, we did what we could for now, and it kinda fits in with the theme of the new Visible Image Challenge this month we are challenge to

Brighten your day!

i thought it was a great theme as we are finally seeing some nice bright sunny days it also forced me to use bright colours :/ out of my comfort zone ladies lol

but here it is and I'm warning you it BRIGHT!

OK First thing i did was stamp the fob watches from the Time after Time stamp set, first the larger one 5 times then the smaller 5 times , and one more smaller in a different colour, the main ones being stamped in Hydrangea big and juicy in pad and the other in Foliage big and juicy, i then coloured the whole face in Shocking Pink , and the centre one in Aniseed flex markers. once i had cut them all out i sprayed lightly with a little water to break down the fibres of the card a little, and scrunched them to give a bit of shape, then arranged them ont a 1'' circle of card and glued, the centre one i covered in crackle glaze, and added a little bit of shimmer to the very edges of all the main petals.
Next i had cut some leaves and stamped with the cracked Glass stamp from the Time after Time set using the Foliage ink pad again , then coloured with lime green pro marker.
i edged a piece of paper in the Shocking pink, and a slightly smaller piece in the lime green, then i took a piece of the card and dropped water based inks onto it in shades of blue and a little green, then sprayed with water to blend, once dry i cut to size and layered it all up , finishing with a sentiment from the Stamps set.
like i say out of my comfort zone, but i think it works, and i hope it brightens your day  :)

so head on over to the Visible Image Blog and see all the wonderful inspiration from the design team
then dig out you brights and get busy .

 hug x

Ps, dont forget you must use a real stamp . doesnt have to be a visible Image stamp, (though we do love to see them :) ), but it must be a real stamp no digi's
thanks
